Rev. Fr. Akan Simon

Reverend Father Akan Sylvester Simon is a Roman Catholic Priest of Rockford Diocese, Illinois, USA. He is presently the Parish Priest of Holy Family Catholic Church in the Rockford Diocese. He has previously served as Parish Priest of the following Parishes, all in the Rockford Diocese, IL:
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Crystal Lake 1998-2000.
Sr. Bridget, Loves Park, 2000-2001.
St. Peter, Geneva, 2001-2004.
St. Patrick, St. Charles, 2004-2009.
St. Thomas the Apostle, Crystal Lake, 2009-20021.
Holy Family, Rockford, 2021 to present.
In all these Parishes, Fr. Simon (as he is called) enjoys being a Parish Priest and serving the people of God. In his priestly ministry, Father is known for his love of Children and the Elderly.
Even though Fr. Simon resides and serves the Church in the United States of America, he has NEVER forgotten his home people of Umon-Okon, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He is also forever indebted to his home Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, because it is here that his Priestly Vocation was born and nurtured. Fr. Simon serves as the President of Diocese of Ikot Ekpene Office for the Missions in the United States of America. He is also the Founder of Our Lady of Fatima Women Association at his home village for the empowerment of women in the areas of Finance, Healthcare and Education.
Faithful to the motto of his priesthood: Isaiah 49:16, Fr. Simon believes in the dignity of every human person and the advancement of all people of God, irrespective of race, color and creed. He is convinced that God has carved the names of each and everyone of us upon the palms of His hands.
