is a Christian Organization that focuses on human empowerment and providing solutions to the ills in society. This humanitarian organization was born in 2013 from a desire to build a new church building for the St. Joseph Catholic Community in the village of Umon-Okon in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
This amber of desire caught fire and set the hearts of many generous individuals in the United States of America ablaze. These individuals contributed greatly in planning, dedication, zeal, and fundraising. And this desire transformed into a new state-of-the-art Church Building for St. Joseph Catholic Church, Umon-Okon, Ikot Ekpene Diocese.
In an electricity intervention program, Building4God Outreach purchased and installed a new ABB Transformer for Umon Community in Akwa Ibom State, linking the community to the national grid.
Building4God Outreach built and furnished a five-bedroom bungalow and another two-bedroom bungalow respectively for widows from Ikot Igwe and Ikot Essien communities of Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Reverend Father Akan Simon does his best to put his faith in God into practice, which has translated into his many acts of kindness. As a man of God, he believes that God wills us to do good, particularly for the glory of God – the major reason why he committed to building a magnificent Church, an incredible place of worship for the people of his community.
Father Simon has spread the love of Christ far and wide, touching lives, hearts and whole communities wherever he goes.
Even though he is based in the United States of America, he has not forgotten his land of birth. He has supported the education of some of the impoverished children in his community. Reverend Father Akan Simon has provided shelter to the homeless, especially the widows. A strong advocate for women’s dignity and well being, he founded and spiritually mentors Our Lady of Fatima Women Association (OLOFWA), a registered non-governmental organization. This organization focuses on the welfare of the women in our society in general, and the Umon-Okon Catholic Community in particular.
True to his lineage, Reverend Father Akan Simon grew up in a family where giving is a tradition. He never stops making positive impacts in the lives of the less privileged around him and beyond.
Father Akan Simon has consistently shown his love for people as children of God. It is no surprise therefore that in appreciation of his acts of love,
Father Simon accepts these awards from his people with a humble heart filled with gratitude to God and his people. He has always insisted that serving his Community and the people of God brings him more joy and a sense of accomplishment than any academic or professional acclaim.
